We want to personally reach out to you and provide an update on the actions Jae Fitness is taking to help prevent the spread of the virus and support the health and well-being of our members, partners (employees) and our community.
We have been carefully monitoring the information and guidelines being made available regarding the COVID-19 virus. In accordance with the Governors order, it is our responsibility to do our part in the efforts to flatten the curve and impact of this virus. The facility will be closed beginning Friday, March 20th, until at least April 3rd, 2020. EDIT: Closure updated to extend through April 30th by Governor Abbott’s executive order.
All memberships will be extended (no charge) to cover the time the club is closed.
The health of our members and employees is paramount, and we agree that it is the right thing to do at this time.
During this time, we will continue to have maintenance and janitorial crews on duty so that when we reopen, we will know we have done everything to ensure our clubs are ready for your return.
We want to emphasize the importance of continued exercise, especially during times like this. The U.S. National Library of Medicine points out (https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/007165.htm):
· Physical activity may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illness.
· Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells (WBC). WBCs are the body's immune system cells that fight disease. These antibodies or WBCs circulate more rapidly, so they could detect illnesses earlier than they might have before. However, no one knows whether these changes help prevent infections.
· The brief rise in body temperature during and right after exercise may prevent bacteria from growing. This temperature rise may help the body fight infection better. (This is similar to what happens when you have a fever.)
· Exercise slows down the release of stress hormones. Some stress increases the chance of illness. Lower stress hormones may protect against illness.
We will provide members with at home workouts (No charge) that will keep your mind and body in shape. TOGETHER we will make it through this and be stronger for it.
